South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor's Indian subsidiary is planning to begin exporting Eon car from India within a month to the South Asian and African countries.

The company's move is expected to help its local unit partly balance the declining sales in one of its biggest markets, Europe.

Hyundai Motor India sales and marketing director Arvind Saxena was quoted by Dow Jones Newswires as saying that the company was quite satisfied with the Eon in the domestic (Indian) market.

"We have been selling about 11,000-12,000 Eon cars a month in India and are quite optimistic of the model doing well in export markets as well," Saxena said.

A few years ago, the car maker had exported about half of its car production, while the fraction changed currently due to the decline in automobile demand in Europe due to an economic retard and a successive debt crisis.

The carmaker is anticipating a 10% decline in exports this year to 220,000 autos from 242,330 last year, while is expecting to sell about 410,000 vehicles in the country this year, representing a 10% rise from 373,709 vehicles sold in 2011.
