It is learned that Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel's heavy sections mill is enlarging its product range, which will include structural steel in the product range. The move is to re-act the growing market of offshore oil and gas sector. CEO of the company Saeed G Al Romaithi said that his company is ramping up production to reach 1 million tons possibly within 3 years when they would have developed product range and optimized the rolling mill's efficiency. Emirates Steel should be in a better position to provide heavy sections market in the region which is currently supplied largely by imports. Saeed said they have identified the product grades that are required by their customers and they are producing them to order.
