DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight arm of Deutsche Post DHL, has opened the doors of its new $61.6 million facility. The building combines DHL Global Forwarding's two existing Sydney sites into a new, 19,619m2 custom-built facility in the Sydney suburb of Matraville, close to Port Botany and Sydney International Airport.
"The new premises provide for business growth and improved process capabilities that will enhance our productivity in the processing of our air and ocean freight cargo. Combining our Sydney operational sites into one purpose-built facility ensures we are able to meet the future demands of our customers," said Tony Boll, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding South Pacific.
The building is one of the largest in South Sydney, comprising almost 5,000m2 of office space and 15,000 m2 of warehouse space. The facility also has 3,000m2 of temperature controlled space, claimed to be the largest allocation of any freight forwarder in Australia.
